Teen pulled from water at Salmon Falls Park has died

Marion County, Ore. — (KGW) Rescue crews were called to Salmon Falls Park on the Little Northfork of the Santiam River after a 17-year-old boy went into the water and did not come out Monday afternoon.

A bystander left the park to get cellphone service and call for help, while several others pulled the boy out of the water and began CPR, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Stutrud with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

The boy died later at the hospital. His name was not available.

The Salmon Falls area is a popular cliff jumping destination. It’s unclear if the person jumped into the water.
