Vicki Kelly visits the grave of her son Tommya few times every week.
“My seventeen year old son, went missing for over a year and back then in 1999 there wasn’t an amber alert,” Kelly said.
Atool she says may have helped save his life, on June 14, 2000 Tommy’s skeletal remains were discovered in blackberry bushes.
“The outcome would have been the same but maybe we wouldn’t have had a year and a half of searching and maybe even have gotten a prosecution.”
In memory of her son, Kelly started the Tommy Foundation in 2001. With the help of the Amber alert program she is able to help other parents in their search for their missing children…
Kelly has helped support over 200 families by creating awareness, talking with the community and even hanging flyers.
She is overcome with emotion when cases like 16 year-old Hannah Anderson’s have a happy ending.
