Trial begins for man accused of shooting Klamath Falls Police officer

parkerson imageKlamath Falls, Ore. — The trial of a man accused of shooting and wounding a Klamath County Sheriff’s deputy began on Friday morning.

Charges against 32-year-old William “Jack” Parkerson include attempted aggravated murder, and first-degree assault.

Parkerson is accused of shooting deputy Jason Weber once in the face, and once in the stomach in August of 2014 during a traffic stop.

Deputy Weber is continuing to recover. He’s since retired from the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office, and now works for the O.L.C.C. in Deschutes County.
