VIDEO: Suspects elude police, hit spike strips

Two suspects in a Chevy Silverado took police on a high speed chase over 30 miles early Wednesday morning. The suspect vehicle hit speeds over 80 miles-per-hour on icy roads.

The pursuit began before 1:53 a.m. when the truck was spotted for reckless driving on Dead Indian Memorial and Clover Creek roads in Ashland.

Police used three sets of spike strips to stop the vehicle. The driver continued to elude police riding on the bare rims of the car before finally pulling over into a ditch.

The suspects identified as Gregory Costa of Eagle Point and Christopher Ramsey of Central Point surrendered to police and were arrested for stealing the Chevy Silverado.

At least one suspect was charged with felony eluding police, reckless driving and possession of methanphetamine.
