William Simmons Jury Selection Begins

The trial for the primary suspect in the murder of 15-year-old Kaelin Glazier begins Tuesday morning with jury selection in a Jackson County Circuit Courtroom.

William Frank Simmons is facing a maximum sentence of life in prison for the killing that happened more thanfifteenyears ago on November 6th, 1996. Glazier, aSouth Medford High School studentwas last seen with Simmons watching a movie at his Ruch home.

Glazier’s body was found in 2008 across the street from Simmons home at the time of the murder. Simmons was arrested in April 2010. The trial has been postponed several times by his defense team. Simmons has remained incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail since his arrest.

If convicted, Simmons faces a life sentence in prison with a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years.
