COOS BAY, Ore. – Two small earthquakes occurred off the Oregon Coast Thursday morning.
The U.S. Geological Survey said at 7:25 a.m. PST, a magnitude 3.7 quake struck about 155 west of Coos Bay. Another magnitude 5.9 quake hit about 177 miles west of Coos Bay at 8:02 a.m. PST.
Both quakes failed to trigger any tsunami watches or warnings.
The temblors occurred near the Blanco Fracture Zone, which has seen multiple earthquakes this year, including a magnitude 6.3 quake on August 29.
