BERRYMedford, Ore. — An argument over In-N-Out burgers leads to felony charges for a Medford man.

Police said 21-year-old Christian Matthew Berry beat his girlfriend after she failed to bring home dinner from the fast food chain.

Court documents show the victim was hospitalized with extensive bruising, cuts, and scratches after Berry punched, kicked, and hit her with a cane. Police said Berry and his girlfriend have been dating for four years, and documents show he admitted to assaulting her 13 times within the past year.

Berry was arraigned in Jackson County Circuit Court Tuesday morning. He’s facing multiple charges including second-degree assault, third-degree assault, two counts of fourth-degree assault, coercion, and unlawful use of a weapon.

If convicted of second-degree assault Berry will face a minimum sentence of five years and 10 months in prison.
