Merlin, Ore. – A man was arrested after he barricaded himself inside a Merlin home when police attempted to search the residence.
According to Oregon State Police, detectives tried to serve a search warrant at a home in the 100 block of Galice Road around noon on Wednesday. The suspect, 68-year-old Mike Dills, barricaded himself inside the house when police arrived.
Police said because of the high-risk nature of the situation, OSP SWAT responded and surrounded the home. Within minutes, Dills surrendered to police and was arrested without incident.
OSP said a search of the home yielded 64.9 grams of methamphetamine, three firearms, and over $2,500 of other evidence.
Dills is now behind bars at the Josephine County Jail on charges of unlawful possession and delivery of methamphetamine.
