Man arrested for assaulting Ashland police officer in May

1018-david-jon-dickersonAshland, Ore. — According to Ashland Police, on May 6th 40-year-old David Jon Dickerson, also known as Auram, fought with an officer after he was confronted in Lithia Park. Police said that Dickerson refused to identify himself and tried to leave. The officer tried to stop him, but Dickerson fought back and punched the officer in the face.

According to Ashland Police, the officer dropped his flashlight during the scuffle. Dickerson picked it up and charged the officer. He was tased, but broke free from the taser prongs and escaped.

Dickerson had been on the run until October 18th, when he was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Northern California. He is now behind bars at the Humboldt County Jail on multiple charges, including assaulting a public safety officer, robbery, unlawful use of a weapon and resisting arrest.
