Man arrested for shooting at Rogue Valley businesses

Dwaine Richard SchifferMedford, Ore. — A man is in custody after police say he fired shots at multiple businesses Sunday night.

Police responded around 7 p.m. to reports of shots being fired at Southern Oregon Auto Care by a man on a motorcycle.

Officers arrested 65-year-old Dwayne Schiffer and discovered he had also fired shots at three other locations, including Harley Davidson on South Pacific Highway, Batzer Construction on Ross Lane, and the Masonic Lodge.

Police believe Schiffer shot at the businesses because he was upset with them from previous interactions.

Schiffer is charged with 29 counts unlawful use of a weapon, carrying a concealed firearm, reckless endangering, disorderly conduct, and four counts of criminal mischief.
