Man caught with over $80k of cocaine taped to legs at JFK airport

Queens, N.Y. — Airport officials busted a man with more than $83,000 in cocaine duct taped to his legs when he landed at the John F. Kennedy International Airport Thursday.

This is the second time in two months U.S. Customs and Border Protections officials have nabbed a suspect for the same offense.

Both men were flying to New York from the Dominican Republic when they were caught, but it’s not yet clear whether the two cases are linked.

The man arrested Thursday appeared nervous when he arrived at the airport and was taken aside to be searched. That’s when officers found the packages containing 5 pounds of cocaine.

The man will face charges of federal narcotics smuggling.
