Man dead in his truck after shooting outside Central Point market

Central Point, Ore. — A man is dead after a shooting outside of Stop N’ Go on Table Rock Road in Central Point.

Jackson County Sheriff Corey Falls says both the men involved in the shooting are from Central Point. They say 29-year-old Robert Kahlil Davies-Calhoun shot and killed 53-year-old Douglas Mitchell Spaur around 9:30 a.m. in front of Stop N’ Go. Spaur was found dead in his pick up truck in the parking lot. Davies-Calhoun left on foot.

Falls wouldn’t say what led up to the shooting, how many shots were fired, or the relationship between the two men.

Deputies arrested Davies-Calhoun blocks away from Stop N’ Go on Gibbon Road on outstanding warrants. He’s also now facing a murder charge.

Medford Police, and Oregon State Police are assisting with the investigation. If anyone has further information on the shooting they’re asked to call the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
