Man killed in Deschutes County crash

1125-deschutes-county-crashDeschutes County, Ore. – On Thursday, November 24th, Oregon State Police responded to a single vehicle crash in the 19000 block of Innes Market Road west of Bend.

Troopers said a Ford pickup truck was driving on Innes Market Road when it lost control while going around a corner. It then left the highway and crashed into a tree.

A passing motorist drove by and called 911. Troopers said the motorist reported the driver was unconscious and not breathing in his locked truck. An OSP trooper arrived at the scene within a few minutes and broke a window to get to the driver, but he was pronounced dead a short time later.

OSP identified the deceased driver as 56-year-old Bend resident Blake D. Payne. Both airbags were deployed, but Payne did not appear to be wearing a seatbelt and struck his head on the windshield.
