Medford, Ore. — A Rogue Valley man is headed to prison for more than seven years after trapping a man in his home and torturing him for hours .

51-year-old Ronald Ledell Harris pleaded no contest Tuesday to charges of second-degree assault and coercion for the October 18th attack.

According to Jackson County Deputy District Attorney Allan Smith, Harris broke Chrisopher Toughill’s finger with a sledgehammer, burned him with hot oil, and even poured gasoline on him and threw a lit cigarette at him.

Smith said it all happened because Harris was jealous after the victim gave his girlfriend a ride.

Toughill made custom eyeglasses, but according to smith, the injuries he suffered to his hand were severe enough that they have prevented him from being able to continue his work.
