Man wanted in connection with high speed chase

Eagle Point, Ore. — Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a man wanted in connection with a high speed chase that started in Shady Cove and ended in Eagle Point.

Sheriff’s deputies spotted a stolen Acura TL on Highway 62 Wednesday afternoon, but when they attempted to pull the car over, the driver took off. Police say speeds reached 100 miles per hour, stopping at one point only to ditch a passenger.

“The suspect driver pushed the female out of the vehicle, and she sustained unknown injuries.”

We’re told the driver ran over the woman’s leg in an attempt to flee. She was taken to a local hospital but her condition is unknown tonight.

The stolen car was finally found on Brentwood Road in Eagle Point. Police attempted to track the suspect down with K9’s but were unsuccessful. Police are looking for Erick Decker in connection with the chase. He faces charges of elude, reckless driving, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was last seen wearing a camo cap, red and grey striped flannel shirt, and blue jeans. Anyone with information on Decker’s whereabouts is asked to call police.
