“Mango” the lost bird flies into Medford Police Department

Medford, Ore. – A wayward pet bird knew where to turn when he was in trouble Wednesday morning.

Medford Police said the bird flew right into the police department and appeared to be “stunned”.

On a Facebook post, MPD reached out to the public for help locating the owner, and they received a swift response. Some even had some advice on how to take care of the bird.

Commenters quickly connected the bird with a Craigslist ad seeking a “lost green conure.”

According to the ad, “Mango” flew away from his home in the 100 block of Newtown Street in Medford, just a few blocks down from the police department.

Officers quickly got in touch with the person who posted the Craigslist ad and confirmed it was indeed the same bird that had flown into their building.

MPD said the owners were on their way to pick up Mango, but not before he got a little more comfortable with MPD employees.
