Dateline NBC is putting a Medford cold case in the national spotlight.
Police are hoping it could lead to answers.
6-year-old Christie Farni went missing while walking to Medford’s Jackson Elementary School.
38 years later, Medford police still have no clear information on what happened.
According to Lieutenant Mike Budreau, no remains have been found and nobody has come forward in the case.
He says it’s a very odd case – especially since it’s spanned nearly four decades.
He’s hoping the national attention may help police discover the truth.
“Finding them or their remains is really a key part of it. And if she’s still alive and she could see this or somebody could see this that’s close to her and be able to find her that way… then that’s good,” Lieutenant Budreau said.
Lieutenant Budreau says Christie had a history.
On the day she went missing, Christie testified at a grand jury against her father for allegations of physical abuse.
Neither Christie’s father nor her foster parents have been named a suspect or person of interest.
If you have any information regarding Christie Farni’s case, be sure to call Medford police.
