Medford, Ore. — A series of small arsons in Medford this week have Medford police asking for your help. Police gathered surveillance video of the person they believe set 3 fires around town including a dumpster at Barney’s Burgers, and a trash can at Far East Restaurant.
The fires did not spread to nearby buildings, but officers want to catch the person responsible before the crimes escalate.
“They’re gonna continue to light fires,” Lieutenant Mike Budreau says, “sometimes the fires will get out of control putting people in danger, people are sleeping at that time it could catch a home on fire, a first responder could get injured.”
“Just be a good witness,” Lt. Budreau adds, “more eyes and ears is really what we’re looking for.”
The fires were set around 4 in the morning Tuesday. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
