Medford utility rates to increase

MEDFORD, Ore. — The Medford City Council also voted through a utility rate increase Tuesday, which will up customer’s sewer and storm drain fees.

However, councilors decided against raising street maintenance fees too.

The move comes after a 20-year revenue projection.

According to the city, the increase will be just over $2s for the average single-family home.

Customers will notice the change beginning in August.

A spokesperson for the City of Medford provided the following fee breakdown:

Current Single-Family utility fee total: $37.97

As of July 15, 2018 (customers will notice the difference on their August bill): $40.07

Increase total: $2.10

Specific fee increase info for a single-family home:

Storm Drain fee – Currently $10.15, starting July 15 will be $10.25

Sewer Collection – Currently $20.47, starting July 15 will be $22.47
