Princeton, Mass. (NECN) — The death of a 27-year-old woman who was found in the woods in Massachusetts Sunday evening appears to be a homicide, according to authorities.
Vanessa Marcotte of New York City was visiting her mother in Massachusetts and didn’t return home after she went on an afternoon jog.
She was found about a half mile away from her mother’s home.
With the homicide investigation in its early stages, Worcester District Attorney Joe Early said that police cannot rule out random violence, and they are asking residents to stay vigilant and to “use an abundance of caution.”
