More car break-ins caught on video

Medford, Ore. –Police say another string of car burglaries occurred over the weekend in Medford, with 17 cars broken into on Saturday night.

Medford Police say surveillance cameras caught the suspected thieves on video early Sunday morning on Creekview Drive, near Alameda Street. The video shows three teenagers wearing hoodies and back-packs. They appear to be driving a small, dark colored pick-up truck which appears to be lowered.

The surveillance video released by police shows the incident from multiple surveillance cameras, and police ask the public to pay particular attention to certain parts of the 25-minute long video. They say the first couple of minutes show the vehicle driving into the neighborhood before they park. At the 10:07 minute mark, there is a close-up of one of the subjects entering a vehicle. Finally, at the 24:25 minute mark, the suspects take off running after setting off a car alarm.

MPD says it’s the same as other cases they’ve been seeing over the last couple of weeks, with unlocked cars being targeted, and thieves taking what they can grab. Police say in this case, the suspects hit every car in the neighborhood within a 25-minute period.

Police are encouraging the public to be watchful, particularly during the late night and early morning hours. If you see anyone suspicious walking around your neighborhood, call Medford Police at 541-774-2250.
