Yamhill County, Ore. – Oregon State Police responded Wednesday morning to a two vehicle crash on Highway 99W north of Newberg.
Troopers said a motorcyclist on a 2002 Harley Davidson was traveling behind a 2012 Acura MDX when the Acura braked rapidly due to stopped traffic ahead. The motorcycle struck the rear of the Acura and ejected the motorcyclist.
OSP said the motorcyclist, identified as 63-year-old Newberg resident Gary L. Routon, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Acura was not injured,
The investigation is ongoing.
