Motorhome crashes into Tillamook house

Tillamook County, Ore. – A motorhome traveling on Highway 101 in Tillamook drifted off the road and crashed into a house Tuesday afternoon.

Oregon State Police said at around 4:00, a 1956 30-foot motorhome traveling southbound drifted off the highway for unknown reasons. The motorhome drove through a yard and crashed through a house located in the 3000 block of McCormick Loop Road.

OSP said a family of five was upstairs at the time of the crash. They told officers it felt like an earthquake had occurred. An elderly woman who was in the home at the time was pinned under debris. She received minor injuries.

The driver of the motorhome, identified by police as 41-year-old Welches, Oregon resident Jerry O. Bahles, was extricated by firefighters and taken by air ambulance to the hospital for life threatening injures.

Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
