MSD 549C receives new water results, many show lower lead levels

Medford School District leadMedford, Ore. — Medford School District officials say they may never know what caused high levels of lead at both Jackson and Roosevelt elementary schools.

The water at both schools remains off while their plumber works overtime trying to pinpoint the source of the high levels of lead in their recent water tests.

While the district is waiting to receive all of the results from their re-tests they tell NBC5 News that what they’ve received back so far, shows a significant decrease in many areas.

They have been flushing and changing fixtures, but say they won’t turn the water back on at the schools until the problem is solved. School resumes September 6th.
