Mt. Bachelor set to open Friday

1122-mt-bachelorBend, Ore. – Mt. Bachelor will be starting its 2016 ski season on Friday, November 25th.

In a press release, ski area officials the 59th winter season will include easier terrain served by the Sunshine Accelerator lift, a small rail park and resort service near the West Village base area.

Officials said major storms are expected to deliver significant snow throughout the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. If there is enough snow, the resort may add the Pine Marten and Skyliner lifts to the schedule on Saturday.

“It’s great to see so much enthusiasm and positive energy surrounding Mt. Bachelor right now,” said John McLeod, Mt. Bachelor’s president and general manager. “With all the improvements we’ve made and the debut of Cloudchaser just a few weeks away, this winter will be special.”

Single day lift tickets will be $35 for adults aged 19-64, and $35 for other ages on Friday. On Saturday, prices will be $69 for adults, $52 for teens and seniors and 442 for youth and those aged 70 and older.

The resort also plans to open the upper Nordic trails on Friday if they get enough snow.
