MEDFORD, Ore. — A new statewide transit tax will go into effect next week.
According to the Oregon Department of Revenue, employers will be responsible for collecting the tax equaling one-tenth of one percent of your earnings.
It will be taken from workers’ wages and the wages of nonresidents who work in Oregon.
Oregon lawmakers say the tax will go towards improving public transportation across the state.
