Josephine County, Ore. — The man accused of shooting his brother during a fight near Merlin back in march will not be facing any charges.
The Josephine County District Attorney’s Office said an investigation revealed Wayne Hansen shot his brother Douglas when they were in a struggle.
Family members said in the time leading up to the death Douglas was suicidal.
The D.A.’s office said based on the evidence, they could not disprove Wayne shot his brother in self-defense.
