Obama presents Guantanamo plan

(NBC News) President Obama has announced a plan to shut down the Guantanamo Bay detention center and transfer dozens of terrorist suspects to facilities in the United States.

There are 35 detainees currently eligible for transfer. The president’s plan calls for an accelerated review of the remaining 56 to determine if they pose a threat and will also be transferred, or if they will be returned to their home countries.
