Off-duty officers catch man lighting car on fire

Central point, Ore. — A man is in jail tonight after police said he lit a car on fire in Central Point.

Central Point Police said three off-duty officers saw 33-year-old Justin Brumm pour gasoline on the vehicle before lighting it on fire on Manzanita Street. Police were able to extinguish the flames and arrest Brumm. No one was injured.

It was later determined the vehicle belonged to one of Brumm’s relatives.

Brumm is facing multiple charges including arson, reckless burning, reckless endangering, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct. Brumm’s bail was set at $50,000.
