Klamath Falls, Ore.– The driver of a stolen vehicle is dead after colliding with a Klamath County Sheriff’s vehicle early Monday morning.
The incident began when an officer was trying to locate the stolen car involved in a pursuit.
Once located on the 1200 block of Lakeshore Drive in Klamath Falls, the stolen vehicle and the officer’s car collided. The driver of the stolen vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. No names have been released at this time.
The investigation is ongoing with the help of the Klamath County Major Crime team.
Drivers are advised to avoid traveling on Lakeshore Drive Monday morning.
Traffic is being rerouted at Lakeshore Drive and Highway 140 and at Lakeshore Drive and Moore Park until the investigation is complete.
