Officer involved shooting in Yreka

***UPDATE***: Yreka police say Uhl is in critical condition tonight, and is known to police.

The three officers involved are on administrative leave while the investigation is going on.

Yreka, Ca — A Yreka man is taken to the hospital in critical condition after an officer involved shooting.

According to Yreka police, around 7pm Monday night officers responded to the 1500 block of Sandpiper Court after reports of a man with a handgun.

Officers say the man was armed and acting irrationally. After some time YPD says an officer involved shooting occurred.

37-year-old Robert Uhl of Yreka was taken to Fairchild Medical Center. The three officers involved were not injured.

The Siskiyou County Critical Incident Investigative Team was activated for further independent investigation.
