Aurora, Colo. (KUSA) — An off-duty Colorado Sheriff’s Deputy has been cleared of any wrong-doing in a shooting that happened back in January.

Deputy Jose Marquez was visiting his girlfriend’s apartment when two men tried to rob him and started shooting.

Marquez was hit several times but fired back. One very lucky bullet likely saved his life.

He shot directly into the barrel of the robber’s gun, disabling it.

With what Jimmy Graham of the Active Shooter Response Training Center calls a “one in a million shot,” it is unlikely that Marquez could ever do it again.
