Pendleton, Ore. – A teen has been charged with murder by abuse and criminal mistreatment after the state accused him of killing his 5-month-old son.
According to the East Oregonian, 16-year-old Evan Freel appeared in circuit court in Pendleton via video. His attorney entered pleas of not guilty on Freel’s behalf.
No one from Freel’s family was in the courtroom. Freel’s grandmother and legal guardian said she only heard about the arraignment after the East Oregonian reported it.
