Overtime rules expand for millions

0518 OvertimeWashington, D.C. — More than 4 million Americans who are not eligible for overtime pay will now have expanded protections.

The Department of Labor announced it would expand overtime pay protections and boost wages for workers by 12 billion dollars over the next 10 years.

That will bring overtime pay to salaried workers making up to nearly $47,500 a year.

Right now, workers making a little more than $23,600 dollars quality for overtime.
