Patrick Duffy launches campaign to buy Rogue River Preserve

HEART OF THE ROGUE PICMedford, Ore. — Actor and Rogue Valley resident Patrick Duffy is asking for your help in securing a local land preserve. The ‘Rogue River Preserve’ is a 352-acre property about 15 miles north of Medford. It’s been owned by one family since 1943, however they’re looking to sell it.

Duffy is launching the Heart of the Rogue campaign to raise $3.5 million to purchase it, and keep it open to the public. He says he feels it’s important to keep the preserve locally owned.

“Change in inevitable, but we can ameliorate the affects of that change, and take advantage of it to the best of our ability, and I think we have a, not just an obligation, but we all have a right,” Duffy said.

The Heart of the Rogue campaign has two years to raise the money. They currently have about $250,000 for the project.
