Pearl Harbor attack remembered

PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii (NBC) – Thursday marks 77 years since the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor.

About 20 survivors of the attack gathered at the USS Arizona Memorial to pay tribute to the 2,403 Americans who lost their lives.

For the first time, none of the five men who survived the bombing of the USS Arizona battleship were healthy enough to attend today’s remembrance.

The ceremony began with a moment of silence at 7:55 a.m., the hour that Japanese warplanes attacked, putting America into war.
