Man struck, killed by vehicle south of Selma

Update (09/01 3:30 p.m.) — According to the Illinois Valley Fire District a transient man on a bicycle was struck by a truck pulling a camper on Redwood Highway across the road from Ray’s Market.

IVFD Fire Chief Dennis Hoke said his crew tried to help the man who was hit, but he died at the scene.

The victim’s name has not been released.


Selma, Ore. — A person was killed after they were struck by a vehicle in Selma.

The incident happened around 1:30 Thursday afternoon near milepost 20 of Highway 199 (Redwood Highway).

ODOT said a single lane of traffic is open. Investigators on the scene.
