Pennsylvania man charged with sexual assault after 12 girls found in home

0617 Lee KaplanFeasterville, Penn. (WCAU) — Authorities have found 11 girls and an 18-year-old woman living in a Pennsylvania man’s home, and he’s now been charged with sexual assault.

According to a criminal complaint, 51-year-old Lee Kaplan started sexually abusing one of the girls in 2012 when she was 14-years-old.

Police say a couple in Lancaster County “gifted” their 14-year-old daughter to Kaplan a number of years ago to settle some sort of financial obligation.

Police say Kaplan fathered two children with that young girl, who is now 18.

An anonymous tip led police to this home in Feasterville where Kaplan lives, about 20 miles north of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Police say it doesn’t appear the girls were in school. Their ages range from six-months to 18.

Lt. John Krimmel with the Lower Southampton Police Department said Bucks County is working with other agencies to help identify the girls’ genealogy to find out who their parents actually are.

The children are now in protective custody.

Kaplan remains in jail on one-million dollar bail.
