Police investigate an arson attempt in Cave Junction

Cave Junction, Ore. — Detectives are asking the public’s assistance in identifying the person that tried to set fire to the entrance of Community Baptist Church in Cave Junction.

Investigators believe someone used an accelerant on the the church, an agent that accelerates the development of a fire, between 6 pm Thursday night and 8 am Friday morning.

Security video and evidence left behind are being reviewed in hopes of catching the suspect on camera.
