Police pursuit ends in crash

Medford, Ore., — Much of the chase happened on I-5 South, at about four this afternoon.

The driver lead police down the freeway all the way to Exit 24 near Phoenix.

After hitting spikes on the road near Exit 27, the car continued to drive until Exit 24 where he skid all the way across to the northbound side and rolled over before crashing and taking off on foot.

“He got out of the vehicle, and tried to elude on foot where a couple of our troops were able to chase him down, deployed our taser and took him into custody.” said Sergeant Jeff Proulx with Oregon State Police.

Oregon State Police say the driver was being pulled over for driving a stolen car, before he failed to yield and took off.

The driver was taken away in an ambulance and will remain the hospital overnight.

Traffic did slow because of the scene, which resulted in another crash when a car clipped the side of a motorcycle.

Neither of those drivers were injured they both drove away safely.

And it is unknown if any citations were given.
