Police stand-off in West Medford

0511 Shafer LaneMedford, Ore. – A domestic disturbance call turned into an stand-off with police on Shafer Lane in Medford just after noon on Wednesday.

Medford Police said that when officers arrived at a residence on the 1200 block of Shafer Lane, they found a woman with injuries to her face. Officers believe that 47-year-old Andrew D. Moffat caused those injuries.

Police said Moffat was still inside the residence, and officers believed he had access to weapons.

The Medford Police SWAT team responded and several neighbors were asked to evacuate.

According to MPD, Moffatt attempted to flee his home around 2:30 p.m. He was contained in the backyard where he was taken into custody.

The victim received medical care as a result of the alleged assault.

Moffatt was arrested and charged with felony assault, harassment, and resisting arrest.
