Police subdue armed person near a Medford Safeway

MEDFORD, Ore. – Police are notifying the public about an incident near a Medford Safeway.

On Thursday, November 14, police were called to the Safeway at The Village at Medford Center for a suicidal person armed with a knife.

The Medford Police Department said they negotiated with the woman for about thirty minutes before they resorted to shooting a less-than-lethal “foam baton” projectile and deploying a taser to subdue her.

Police provided no further information about the incident.
