Portland woman’s car stolen with dog still inside

Portland, Ore. – A Portland woman says her car was stolen, along with her dog that was inside at the time.

The incident happened Sunday afternoon in a Portland WinCo parking lot, KGW reports.

The owner of the car, Sydni Martens, said she parked her maroon Honda Accord and cracked the window so her Lhasa Apso, “Brie”, could get some air while Martens went shopping.

When Martens came back, her car and dog were gone.

“I was freaking out,” Martens told KGW. “I was trying to call my mom to tell her to come help me but I couldn’t really get the words out.”

Martens said Brie helped her through a lot of sad times in her life.

“They’re attached to the hip,” said Martens’ mother. “She doesn’t go anywhere without her dog.”

Martens said she wants her dog back more than her car. “The car would be nice, but I really need the dog back.”

Brie wore a blue collar with a purple heart tag and is microchipped, according to Martens.

The license plate to the stolen car is Oregon 828-JRE.
