Pres. Trump donates first quarter salary to Nat’l Park Service

Washington, D.C. (NBC Newsource) — President Donald Trump’s first quarter salary as president was donated to the National Park Service Monday.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer handed over the $478,333 check to Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke

By law, the President of the United States must be paid and Trump had promised he would to forgo his presidential salary.

Spicer said, “The President has spoken with council and made the decision to donate his first quarter salary in total to a government entity, and he has chosen this quarter to the National Park Service.

“I am thrilled at the President’s decision to donate the check he did today,” said Secretary Zinke. “I did talk to the president last night he has decided as you know to donate his entire quarter salary and we’re going to dedicate it and put it against the infrastructure our nation’s battlefields.”
