Prescribed burn sends smoke across the Rogue Valley

Central Point, Ore. – A thick layer of smoke was seen spreading over the Rogue Valley Wednesday around noon.

The Oregon Department of Forestry said the smoke was coming from a prescribed burn at the Denman Wildlife Reserve near Central Point.

Firefighters said the burn will get rid of dry vegetation and invasive blackberry patches. Smoke is expected into the afternoon as crews continue to mop up.
