Rally against LNG pipeline

Local residents rallied today against the proposed LNG pipeline in Southern Oregon.

A couple dozen protestors marched along Highway 62 to draw attention to the threat the pipeline may have on the environment.

They’re also concerned about the ongoing fight over the Dakota Access Pipeline in North Dakota.

One protestor tells us climate change is a defining issue for his generation.

“Those hardest hit by the climate crisis are those low income communities–communities of color, indigenous communities–that are the least responsible for the problem,” Southern Oregon Rising Tide Volunteer Alex Budd said.

A spokesperson for the project says they are continuing to move forward with the permitting process for the pipeline.
