18 year old suspect arrested in Klamath Falls murder

Klamath Falls, Ore. – An 18 year old suspect has been jailed in connection with a murder that took place early this morning in Klamath Falls.

The shooting took place at 914 Oak Street.

Rodgers Amerson learned of the incident when he arrived for work at his neighboring business:  “I know that someone was, has been murdered.  It is homicide, but I don’t know any of the details.  I know that it happened about 4 A.M. this morning.”

Klamath County District Attorney Rob Patridge says the victim has been identified as a 21 year old Klamath Falls man…

“The victim in the case is Aaron (Dillon) Andrews, Aaron Andrews was found deceased at the scene.”

The D.A. says Andrews died from multiple gunshot wounds…

“We’re still working through the investigation and not prepared to release any information related to the weapon.”

The Klamath County Major Crime Team was activated, and a suspect was arrested shortly before 11:30 at a location on Crest Street.

“We’ve arrested a shooter.”  Noted Patridge.  “His name’s Seth James Cunningham, he’s 18 years old.”

Patridge adds that information from witnesses led to the arrest…

“There were multiple parties, were around at the time, that’s how we identified the suspect”

Forensic specialists from the Oregon State Police arrived early in the afternoon to process the crime scene.

The D.A. wouldn’t say what may have sparked the shooting.

“We know the two knew each other to some degree.”  Stated Patridge.  “But beyond that, motive is speculative.”

The homicide is still under active investigation.

Patridge says police aren’t looking for any additional suspects at this time.

Seth Cunningham is charged with murder, unlawful use of a weapon, and tampering with evidence.
