Harney County, Ore. — Detained Oregon militia leader Ammon Bundy’s father ordered protesters Monday to keep occupying the Malhaur Wildlife Refuge after Ammon Bundy urged the remaining four protesters to turn themselves in.
Cliven Bundy sent a notice to the Harney County Sheriff to remove all federal and state policing agents out of Harney County.
Protesters took over the refuge on January 2nd, denouncing federal land policies. Group leader Ammon Bundy and ten others were arrested last week after one of the protest group’s most prominent members was shot dead by a law enforcement officer.
Ammon Bundy will be back in court Tuesday. He is seeking to be released with a GPS ankle bracelet until his trial.
