Former Police Chief Marvin Hoover is accused of being racist.

Clatskanie, Ore. – Police officers in Clatskanie, Oregon are accusing their former chief of racism. They claim the former police chief, Marvin Hoover made offensive remarks about African Americans on the job.

“As Chief Hoover was comparing African-Americans to monkeys, I began to become extremely uncomfortable,” Officer Alex Stone said. “I have never been in a work environment where a manager, especially an executive officer, is openly racist.”

Officer Stone and another officers from the department filed an official report against the former chief, which was used in the investigation.

“Any racism, in any form, is inappropriate in any public service or public office,” Officer Alex Stone said, one of the officials who filed the report.

Hoover stepped down after being put on paid leave in August. The investigation is ongoing.
