Former Sunwest CEO sentenced to 15 years in prison

11.18 SUNWEST CEOPortland, Ore. — The former Sunwest Management CEO will serve 15 years in prison.

He headed an Oregon network of assisted living centers then defrauded investors of 130-million dollars.

Jon Harder was found guilty in January of mail fraud and money laundering.

US prosecutors say Harder orchestrated the biggest case of investment fraud in state history. His lawyer was looking for five years but Tuesday afternoon, he was sentenced to 15.

IRS criminal investigators say as the head of an Oregon network of assisted living centers, Harder made off with 130 million dollars from around a thousand investors from 2006 to 2008.
